We decided to set up Smartpath Digital because we believe that the power of online communications could be much better utilised by the sectors where we operate, including healthcare, nutrition, renewable energy and other technology based industries. We have a clear focus on delivering integrated communications programmes built on a strong digital foundation.
Deborah Cockerill
Deborah has worked in online publishing almost since it began, first as Advertising Director and Head of Business Development for publishers Current Science and Elsevier Science. Deborah has a broad foundation in Life Science having studied Biology at University College, London.
Specifically, Deborah has extensive experience in website development, web marketing and online advertising having worked at BioMedNet, ChemWeb and BioMed Central. Deborah then went on to launch De Facto Digital, the online department of De Facto Communications, working with clients such as Nikon, Aesthera Laser, BioFocus DPI and Synergy Outsourcing.
With the knowledge and experience gained in internet publishing and within the agency world, Deborah now focuses on maximising the communications reach for companies online.
Richard Anderson
Richard is a seasoned communications professional with over 20 years experience in healthcare and life science. His specialisation includes global PR & communications, corporate communications, strategic marketing, advertising & branding. Before co-founding Sciad Communications, Richard was MD of healthcare at Bell-Pottinger in London for five years and before that he ran the international healthcare PR agency he founded, De Facto Communications, for 15 years. Richard has led product and corporate communications programmes for pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients including Genzyme, Roche, Amgen, GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer and UCB Pharma, in the UK, across Europe and globally.
Sarah Harrison
Sarah has a degree in biochemistry from Sussex University and has over 12 years experience in the science publishing industry.
Sarah managed the publication of a bi-monthly science review journal for publishers Current Science and then went on to commission and produce a wide range of books and journals for the Biochemical Society. As a project manager for Blackwell Healthcare Communications and Avenue HKM, Sarah also gained extensive experience working for clients in the pharmaceutical industry, including GlaxoSmithKline, Sanofi and Janssen Pharmaceutica. Working closely with key opinion leaders, Sarah successfully delivered a range of publishing and marketing products, including technical peer-review articles and materials for scientific conferences. Sarah's work for Sciad focuses on Adwords tracking and reporting with a specific emphasis on search engine optimisation.
Emily Blythe
Emily has more that ten years experience in Education and Languages. She speaks French and German, having studied both at Southampton University and The Institute of Education, University of London. She has two years of experience working in online marketing, specialising in copywriting, project management and AdWords tracking and reporting.
Alex Curtis
Alex has a degree in 3D model design and over 10 years of experience in graphic and web design. Focusing on the most up-to-date digital technologies and utilising the latest design software, Alex prides himself on listening to clients needs and providing design solutions that are creative, innovative as well as on-brand, on time and within budget.
Alex is used to working with a varied client base including BioMed Central, Defacto Communications, F1000, ISRCTN, GO-Healthcare and Ecosulis. His work for Smartpath Digital ranges from website design and build, search engine optimisation, Google Analytics, AdWords and providing technical solutions for life science, healthcare and environmental companies.
Sylvie Berrebi
Sylvie Berrebi has over ten years' experience in corporate public relations and communications, with a special emphasis on the healthcare and life sciences sector. In London she has worked for the three most successful life science PR agencies in Britain: Citigate Dewe Rogerson, DeFacto (Chime) and Financial Dynamics (now FTI) where she has managed and executed pan-European communications programmes to support clients' transactions, gain visibility and develop the PR strategy.
Most recently she worked as an independent consultant in Toronto (Canada) and successfully raised the profile of Canadian companies and organisations, their drug development portfolio as well as their management team.
Sylvie has a Postgraduate diploma in International Relations, from the Sorbonne University in Paris, France and is fluent in French, German and English.
